It depends on what the problem is. If you just don’t like the previous paint job, why not just repaint? It will be a lot less expensive and messy than hanging drywall. Besides you will still have to paint the drywall. If you install drywall on the walls, you will have to extend the jambs of any windows and doors, as well as re-trim (casing molding) each opening.

You might contact one of the firms which resurface bathroom tubs. Perhaps they could properly repair your damaged stovetop.

The advise given you is correct. And I would wait till both sides could be done at the same time for just the reason stated.

If the filter is not restricted, the blower is moving the usual amount of air, and the compressor is running, my first guess is that the system is low on Freon. If there is a sight glass at the compressor you might look and see if there are bubbles circulating in the refrigerant. If so, you need a recharge (after determining what caused the loss). This is not a DIY project for the non-HVAC initiated. Call a professional serviceman.

Were the decals left visible, or painted over? And the cabinets are located where?

You indicate you wish to “redo” the walls. Do you mean repaint or install another type of wall covering? What is the problem with the painted ceilings? Is it the color of paint or a poor application? A little more info is needed about what your problem is and what you wish to accomplish.

This is a very labor intensive, messy project. You will probably have to remove the wall to the studs. There will be lots of debris which will require disposal. Wear eye protection.

What a ridiculous response from Sears! If it is just a standard automotive type belt, just take the old belt in an auto parts store and ask them to check for a close replacement. If you don’t have the old belt, measure the circumference around the pullys and remove the motor pully to ensure proper pitch of belt replacement. Take these to a power transmision equipment service listed in your Yellow Pages.

My attic A/C unit has two condensation drains also. One is from the main drain pan, and the second goes to a separate pan which was fabricated to catch any leakage which may occur from the main unit itself. Basically, it is a safety overflow. Specifically, what is leaking for you? You said a pipe is leaking. Is this coming from a fitting in the run of pipe, or from where it enters the A/C unit, or where?

Well, obviously you will have to replumb to have the drain connect to the tub end. Do you have access below the shower, such as a basement or crawl space? A little more information is needed before specific advise can be given.

Dodgeman – not likely, the subdivision where the house is has always had natural gas. Thanks, though.

The best way to install the post is to bolt it into the side (stringer) of the stair as well as bolt it through the floor from below. However the particulars of your own home will dictate what you can actually do.

By “right angles” do you mean correct angles, or right (90 deg)angles .? The correct angle for an outside corner is nominally 45 deg., which can be successfully cut on a tablesaw if it has a 45 deg. tilt. If you are considering an inside corner such as found in rectangular or square rooms, you would be better advised to do a coped cut. This results in a tighter joint and is not affected nearly as much by material contraction. This is done with a hand held coping saw. Check your favorite search engine for coping baseboards instructions.

I think you will have to pull the rear seat and remove the carpet. Toss the padding, if any and thoroughly shampoo the carpet. If after it has dryed, it still smells of kero, then you will just have to replace with new carpet.
