I am looking for a belt for a 15 1/2″ Craftsman drill press that I am being told from Sears I should just throw away because they can no longer supply this belt. Does anyone have access to replacement parts for older models? This has a mfg date of 4/73.

What a ridiculous response from Sears! If it is just a standard automotive type belt, just take the old belt in an auto parts store and ask them to check for a close replacement. If you don’t have the old belt, measure the circumference around the pullys and remove the motor pully to ensure proper pitch of belt replacement. Take these to a power transmision equipment service listed in your Yellow Pages.
