CjOregon, It appears that Sears still carries them. They are $7.49 + SH. Go to their website at www3.sears.com and order it from them. Put in the model number on this site and take it from there. HTH

I have bought some silicone caulking by mistake and didn’t realize what it was. After applying it, I couldn’t paint it, caulk over it, etc. The solution is what Lonny says, remove it and start all over.

Jelizuba, If it was me, I would do exactly what the inspector said because to get melathemeoma (sp) (lung cancer) from asbesto requires exposure in the 10-20 year range from the friable asbestos particles.

But not to worry, there is a simple solution. They make encapulating compounds for just that purpose. You can usually buy it at a good hardware/paint store. You paint it on just like paint, using a brush. It will harden and encase the asbestos preventing it from becoming airborn. Yes, I would use eye protection and a good but inexpensive dust mask for this process.

I hope this set your mind at ease.

Lynne, how about something like a shadow box. They are used for the purpose that you need. Below is a URL that tells how to make them, You will have to adjust the dimensions for your needs and you could put a frame around the opening with a glass insert, also. Hope this will get you started.

It is an interesting question which I never heard of but doing a search, here is some of the results.

If oil base paint use two teaspoons/gallon.

If latex paint use a couple of drops/gallon. If it is white or ivory, use 1 drop of lemon extract/gallon.

Janebr. Jenny Lind is a style of crib. The style is made by a number of manufacturers. Turn the crib upside down and see if you can find a manufacturer’s name or sometimes there will be a phone number.

It as the subject line says.

If you have a round slab, 10 feet in diameter. it would be calculated thusly. 1/2 of diameter is the radius = 5 feet.

    5 feet times 5 feet = 25 feet squared.
    25 squared feet times 3.14(PI)=78.5

Assume the slab is 4 inches thick, therefore
    4 inches divided by 12 inches = 1/3 of a foot.

    So 3.14 times 25 times 1/3 = 26.14 cubic feet.

1 yard is equal to 27 cubic feet, therefore 26.14 divided by 27 = .97 yards of comcrete.

    Hope that makes sense?

Good call Lisa. I went by this post a number of times because I couldn’t help. You answer raised a red flag. I remember as a teenager that a small grocery store near me, would update his priceing on cans bu spraying them with ‘hair spray’ and then using a feather duster wipe them clean before putting a new price on them.

Jerm, I know your are disgruntle with the advice but patching a carpet is not easy, to do it properly, you need a carpet iron and fusible carpet tape. You cut out the piece to exactly match the opening, this is done by putting a larger piece over the damaged area and cutting both at the same time. Once that is done. Then you take the fusible carpet tape and lay it fusible side up and isert the iron on the tape and slowly move it along pressing the edges of the carpet together. Do this on all for sides. I have heard of people using duct tape stickly side up but don’t know much about it.

People on this forum gave excellent advice but only to the extent of their knowledge and experience and they give their time freely just to help their forum neighbor, save a few dollors and/or do a correct repair job, we can’t answer evey question but can only guide you.

Claudia, since noboody responded to you question, I will give my $.02 worth. It is mainly a matter of practice. I have done alittle but not for big areas. You can use a white latex(any other color for that matter) that is diluted about 10%, paint it on, wait for a few minutes and then slightly wipe it off with a rought cloth(like an old bath towel), you have to experiment with different twchniques to get the effect that you want. Not much of a description, I knowm but it really is a matter of trying different technique.
