Off the top of my head, You can go to a rental center and rent an ozone generator. Put it in the room. close the door and let it run for a day. The Ace Hardware store here in this little town rents them. Just a thought.

Good call LarryG. When I was a mining claim inspector in Northern CA, all the mining shacks(houses) were plumbed with lead pipe. I haven’t thought about it for years. A simple test is to take a sharp knife and scrape though the corrosion, it will appear silver.

Let us know how it works out.

Yes. hammer drills can use different sizes of carbide bits from very small to very large, depending on the drill. They is usually a switch on them, so you can change from hammer-drill mode to straight drilling mode.

You must be hitting some of the aggregate(sp) rocks in the concrete, which can give you problems. Concrete is soft compared to the quartz aggregate. Look into Tapcon(blue)/concrete screws to hang items with. They require a very small bit and work well for what you want. Check at any hardware store for them. Good luck.

Is the vent pipe blocked? If it is blocked, flushing the toilet could cause a partial vacuum, pulling it partial into the stack. Just a thought.

I agree with tomh. Stranded wire is quite acceptable. It is used on large runs because it is easier to pull. Go with the electrian.

The best I can suggest is to do a google seach with the phrase ‘Stomp & Drag wall texturing’. You will get many hits, and yes I didn’t know there was a thing called a stomp brush. Vert interesting. HTH

Are you using a DigitalVoltMeter(high Inpedence device)? If so, this reading is nothing to worry about. My DVM does it all the time. Check it with an analog device(low impedence) and it will probably read zero. If the switches work, don’t worry about it. HTH

You can buy a sink/tub knob pulling tool at most hardware/big box stores. It look somewhat like a pulley puller. After remove the screw you insert the center into the screw hole(won’t hurt the screw, put the two legs over the knowb handle and turn the handle. After a few turns the knob will come off. I couldn’t live without mine. Use it all the time.
