    * Trench first, that way the top soil nor Sod will be disturbed. Don’t adjust the riser of the sprinkler heads until both top soil and sod have been installed.
    * Cover the riser end with a sprinkler head or ziplock bag until the top soil and sod have been installed to prevent debris from getting into the sprinkler riser.
    * Good luck… Adios… Jasper…

    * The obvious, there is too much current drawn when you put the switch in “START” position.
    * When in “START” position of the start switch, the starter motor is engaged and draws a lot of current.
    * When not in “START”, the starter motor is not engaged therefore fuse will not blow.
    * Also, the key switch could have some debris inside the starter switch. Try this. (A) Disconnect the Battery Hot Cable. (B) Put an Ohmmeter on the loose cable and measure to ground while you turn the switch to start. You should have a few ohms but not a short to ground.
    * if all else fails, replace the starter motor.

    in reply to: Switch keeps tripping breaker #294233

    * You said: “I have a box in the kitchen with an outlet and a switch. The switch is to operate the dispospal outlet which is under the sink in the cabinet. The switch when turned on constantly trips the breaker. I am taking power to the switch from the lower gold terminal on the outlet to the uppoer terminal of the switch. What do I need to do?
    I need answers:
    *1. Is the switch physically part of the outlet?
    *2. What else does the output of the GFCI feed?
    *3. Open the outlet and check to see the the copper wire and the white wire are not connected or touching each other.
    *4. The incomming Hot Wire Does not go to the outlet first. The Black (Hot) wire from incomming power cable goes into the switch terminal first. A Black (Hot) wire leaves the switch and goes to the Hot side of the outlet terminal.
    *5. The White (Neutral) wire Does not go to the switch! It goes to the silver terminal on the outlet.
    ** Note: The GFCI monitors the current going out on the black (HOT) wire, then monitors the current comming back on the white (Neutral) wire. If they don’t match, the GFCI breaker trips.
    ** Note: If they don’t match, it means that some of the current is going to Ground via a short or through the copper ground wire.
    ** Note: The fan that you plugged in, is it a 2 or 3 prong cord? If a 2 prong, then it means that you have a short in the outlet junction box between the White Neutral wire and the Bare Ground wire.
    ** Until something is plugged into the outlet there is no current flow and the GFCI is happy. When a fan or disposal is plugged in, there is current flow and the GFCI does its job.
    ** Good luck… Adios… Jasper…

    * It could be that the GFCI is doing its job.
    * Disconnect the Disposal. Check each wire from the disposal to copper ground. There should be infinite resistance indicating no short to case.
    * If you have resistance to ground, replace the Disposal, it is dangerous!

    * Unplug the TV
    * Remove Back Cover
    * Vacuum/Clean the inside carefully. Don’t damage any components*
    * There is a Wire that conects to the side of the picture tube. It’s from the High Voltage Power Supply. It could shock you! Clean around that connection, called the “Anode”.
    * Put the back cover back on
    * Plug the power cord back in
    * Turn it on.
    * If it still fails, junk it…

    * Cover the area that you want no vegetation with black plastic sheeting that you can get at Lowes or Home Depot.
    * Cover the black plastic sheeting with 4 inches of red mulch or your choice of mulch.
    * No Grass or weeds will grow in that area.
    * Should you want to grow something in that area, simply cut a circle to accomodate what ever you want to plant. If you have to weed, it’ll only be with in the circle you cut.

    * I found my light fixture in the bathroom mounted onto the drywall with no junction box. I installed the new fixture onto the drywall and and connected the wires and ground wire.
    * I’ll remove the fixture and install a flush junction box to be in compliance…

    in reply to: septic tank odor in bathroom sinks #293833

    * There are multiple vents in a house. When a toilet is flushed and water goes into the drain pipe, the space behind the water in the pipe needs atmospheric pressure to force the water down the drain, it gets the pressure through the vent pipe.
    * When a vent is clogged, a vacuum is created behind the water in the pipe. That vacuum normally gets the pressure from a vent pipe. If that pipe is clogged, the pressure comes from the nearest source, in your case the master bath sinks.
    * Water in the p-trap is sucked out by the vacuum. Therefore, you don’t have the water in the p-trap to block the septic odor.

    * At Water Meter, use the valve to cut off water to the house.
    * REmove the valve stem at your outside faucet and check if there’s any debris blocking the flow of water.
    * With the stem out, turn on your water at the meter and see if there is water flow. If there is water flow, then the faucet is defective. If not, then it’s time for a plumber to find where the blockage/Problem is.

    * Read the article at this website:
    http://www.mobilehomerepair.com/tubdrainkit.htm
    * The purpose of the p-trap is so that some water always remains in the trap thereby blocking any odors that come back from the sewer line.
    * Perhaps a p-trap was not installed when the tub was installed?

    * You have a clogged sewer pipe down stream from your tub.
    * If you have a Septic System, The tank or drain field may be clogged. Take the cover off of the cleanout plug. There should be no standing water. If there is, then the problem is outside the house.

    * Looks like someone installed the faucet outside the wall. Some faucets are designed to have the faucet inside the house with the 8 inch piece going outside.
    * Check out this website:
    http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5697393.html
    * As lg suggested, remove that faucet and install a standard outside faucet.

    * Actually, there’s no feedback because the double pole switch is flipped off to turn off the light thereby killing the feedback path.
    * And yes, there is only one source for the Hot Black wire.
    * I had an identical problem on a packaging machine that packages Frito’s.
    The machine had two identical parts that made the bag, weighed the Fritos, Dropped the Fritos through a tube into the bag then cut the bag of Fritos with the printing centered between the cuts.
    * When one side was turned off, a solenoid would “Tic” when the other side was running. I found a feedback that was causing the “Tic”. A Double Pole switch took care of the problem.

    * Check the Neutral white wires at the 2nd receptacle for tightness.
    * Check for a jumper between the two Neutral screws. Check for 120 volts where the neutral leaves the 2nd receptacle. If no 120 volts, then the jumper is missing or broken.
    * Good luck… Adios… Jasper…
