      We are replacing an old bathroom light with a new light. (House built in 1974.) The problem is that there is no junction box. The wires just come out of the wall. Is it okay to just attach the bracket that comes with the new light to the drywall? Is this safe? We really don’t want to install a junction box . . but will if we have to.

      * I found my light fixture in the bathroom mounted onto the drywall with no junction box. I installed the new fixture onto the drywall and and connected the wires and ground wire.
      * I’ll remove the fixture and install a flush junction box to be in compliance…
      * Good luck… Adios… Jasper…
