Older mechanical clocks often fail in that manor. If a replacement is still available, you should be able to purchase a replacement. Otherwise, if you take the original to a local appliance parts supplier, they should be able to send your’s away and have it ‘rebuilt’.

** Well i can’t find the serial number or model number either **

The *model number* is the important thing and should be on the same identification tag as the serial number.

On range models with a pull-out drawer, if the tag isn’t mounted on the front face of the oven where the door shuts up against, it may be beneath one of the surface burner elements or on the under side of the element drawer.

    JFYI

** kenmore [dryer] model #110.63932101 … Today, it suddenly stopped working properly. The dryer only works when you depress the push to start button. As soon as you let go, it stops. **

Your model dryer (built by Whirlpool BTW) has a “belt break switch” which if the belt is broken, has just come off or the switch failed, can exhibit the your symptom. The switch itself should be mounted by the motor at the base of the dryer and is likely one of the first things which should be checked at the same time as the belt.

Your model also uses a couple of relays inside the console panel (one for the motor and one for the heater) in conjunction with an electronic control. If the relay for the motor was defective, it could cause your symptom as well as could the electronic control being defective.

Both relays used in your model are the same (see the link below) so if need be, they may be able to be interchanged *temporarily* to see if the symptoms change to rule out that as a possible cause.

    Motor or Heater Relay

Lastly, a problem in the dryer’s motor could result in the same symptom as well.

** [Kenmore dryer]. The dryer only works when you depress the push to start button. As soon as you let go, it stops. Any help would be greatly appreciated. **

The very first thing we’ll need is the *complete* model number off the appliance’s model and serial number tag so we can see how it was designed and what components it has which might be responsible for such a symptom.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number tag on your appliances in the ‘Repair Parts’ section of my site linked below.

** when using a multimeter to test a receptacle outlet, is the electricity to the outlet on or off? **

It depends on what you are testing for. If testing for proper voltage, obviously the power must be on or you won’t read any.

** I’m not sure how to remove the keypad on the oven though. **

You can see an exploded view of one of the possible model numbers (as I stated before “MH7140XFB” in not complete) at the page linked below. It may give you an idea how the keypad is accessed.

There is no fuse which would account for the symptom your described.

As I replied to your other posting:

    ** Whirlpool under-the-cabinet MW oven model MH7140XFB **

That model number looks incomplete, did you get if right off the appliance’s model and serial number tag? That is the only reliable place the complete number will be found.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number tag on your appliances in the ‘Repair Parts’ section of my site linked below.

** 3/4 or so of the buttons stopped working. What happened? **

Impossible to say without actually checking it out. It could be that the connector between the keypad and electronic control has just come loose or that the keypad itself is now defective and needs to be replaced.

** Can it be repaired? **

    I’m sure it can.

** i have a roper washing machine, only 4 yrs old, the problem is that when it fills up with water it wont shut the water off once it is full. do i need too buy a new washer or can this be fixed. **

Yes, I’m sure it can be fixed. Whether you are able to do it, is another question.

** it wont shut the water off once it is full. **

Does it overflow or just never get full?

If overflowing, it could be caused a problem in the water fill valve or water level pressure switch. You can read about those components at the following link:

** Kenmore dryer alarm won’t stop at end of cycle **

On some Whirlpool built dryers (your Kenmore model is made by them BTW), the contacts (#5 & #6?) in the motor switch have to fully open to shut the buzzer off. If the motor switch is sticking (like maybe jammed with lint, etc. or defective), it could cause the buzzer to remain on.

On other dryer designs, there may be a separate contact in the timer for the buzzer circuit (check the machine’s wiring diagram). If that contact is shorted, the timer would likely need to be replaced to correct the condition.

** fabricmaster is whats printed on the front by the dials **

What I was asking was whether you were talking about a washer, dryer, ironer, clothes press, sewing machine, etc. A “fabricmaster” could be anything to do with fabric or clothing. 🙁

** Changed fuse box and working fine now… **

    Glad to hear it.

** Sears Kenmore dryer model no 96573220 **

The full model number looks to be 110.96573220

** When the end of cycle comes, the alarm to alert will not stop. **

Does the dryer still stop by itself at the proper time?

** Is there any quick fix to this? **

The fix will involve first isolating the cause then working towards the solution. How quick that will be will depend on your diagnostic abilities.

    ** sears model 110 **

That is only the very first part of a model number. The whole model number looks to be 110.91511100 and you haven’t posted the serial number at all (but it’s not required anyway).

** water staated leaking out when i cut the tub on where do i find iinfo for this. **

What information are you looking for? By the sounds of it you likely need to replace the tub. 🙁

If interested, you can find a repair manual for the Kenmore 110.91511100 ‘Direct Drive’ clothes washer at the following link:

    ** GE Profile Dishwasher won’t completely drain… Triton – Quiet Power II model # GSD5130D01WW **

Your model has 2 components which could be responsible for incomplete drains. The most common trouble maker is the “piston assembly” beneath the screen at the rear, bottom of the tub (see the first link below). The other possible cause is a problem with the flapper valve in the exit port of the small secondary pump (see the second link).

    Secondary Pump Valve Flapper
    LINK > http://www.appliance411.com/data.php?rc=270293

If either of those parts are not working properly, it could result in your symptoms.
