    * My GE Profile top loader [model WPSR3120W0WW] is making a loud noise during the spin cycle. *

** I believe the issue is in the mechanical transmission in the center. **

There may be something trapped between the tubs and rubbing. If the noise is coming from inside the transmission itself, the transmission will likely need to be replaced. There isn’t usually much which can be done to repair them (in a cost or time effective manor). Sorry.

You can see the replacement transmission for your model washer at the following link:

    LINK > http://www.appliance411.com/data.php?rc=279566

BTW. If the washer is less than 5-years old, the transmission itself may be covered (at least in part) by the manufacturer’s warranty. The labour to replace it will probably not be covered if older than 1-year.

** Do I need to lubricate any bearing or joints on a periodic basis. **

    No.

** top rim of washing machine barrel appears to have water in it. Is this normal **

    Yes.

** could it be causing the problem? **

    Unlikely.

** that the engine that causes the spin seems to be struggling somewhat. **

You mean the electrical “motor” or the mechanical “transmission” in the center?

** GE Profile Washing Machine **

I’m afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance you have. The only thing which will help with that is the appliance’s *model number* as printed on the machine’s model and serial number tag.

You can find tips for locating that identification tag on your appliances in the ‘Repair Parts’ section of my site linked below.

    ** Kenmore 80 Series **

I’m afraid that is not enough information to identify the washer model you have. It’s like saying you have a “deluxe” GM car.

What is needed in the complete model number *off the appliance’s model and serial number tag*. You can find tips for locating that tag on your appliances in the ‘Repair Parts’ section of my site lined at the bottom of the page.

** How do I replace the belt… I can’t find how to access the area where the belt goes! **

Is it a belted model? Not all are.

IF it is actually a washer model with a belt and it was made by Whirlpool (the most common manufacturer of Kenmore washers), you can read how to change the belt at the following link. It is a BIG job on that washer design.

** Yes Amana has [a 27″ gas wall oven] **

Good catch! (although it’s a *double* wall oven).

It isn’t even listed on Amana’s web site.

** Is there such a thing as a 27″ Gas Wall oven for a home? **

Not that I’ve seen I’m afraid. There are oodles of 27″ electric ones though:

Please post the appliances’s model number from it’s model and serial number tag so we can see how your machine was designed as they’re not all the same. “Kenmore 90 series” is not it.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number tag on your appliances in the ‘Repair Parts’ section of my site linked below.

** Maytage Neptune washer [model MAH5500BWW] just had the motor control take a nose dive, with Q3 exploding, … I don’t know what caused it **

I believe the motor control board failure often occurs when there is a problem in the motor which than needs to be replaced as well to totally correct the problem.

Depending on the series number of the washer (which may be incorporated into the serial number), the replacement motor may come with a new motor control board (see the following link).

    LINK > http://www.appliance411.com/data.php?rc=949491

If the washer is less than 5-years old, I believe the motor is covered under an extended part warranty in which case they would be supplied free *provided an authorized Maytag service depot* did the repairs (which is not covered). I don’t know what effect your tampering may have on that warranty coverage.

*If* just the motor control is responsible and needs to be replaced, it only has a 2-year warranty AFAIK (but check your owner’s manual) even though a new one may be supplied with a replacement motor (depending on the washer’s series number).

I’m afraid I have no idea of the values of any of the electronic control’s components.

BTW. You can find a service manual for the Maytag Neptune front load washer at this link:

    ** My Kenmore dishwasher **

“Kenmore” products are made by a number of different manufacturers each having several different designs of products. Posting the dishwasher’s model number *from the appliance’s model and serial number tag* will allow us to find out what particular appliance design you are having problem(s) with.

You can find tips for locating the model number tag on your appliances in the ‘Repair Parts’ section of my site linked below.

** Wondering if I seal the gap up will it affect the operation of the washer. **

Probably. If it is there, it is there for a purpose.

I would suggest you first try to isolate the cause before attempting to modify the design of the dishwasher. It could be as simple as a lime or scale build-up in the air gap that needs to be cleaned or replaced.

After self cleaning the range the door won’t open. What might be the problem?
    LINK > http://www.appliance411.com/links/jump.cgi?ID=710

Maybe the tip there about trying and canceling another clean cycle will work? Other than that, it will likely need to be looked into to find and correct the problem.

** On model # 11062922100, where is the heating element? **

It looks to run along the base of the dryer under the drum. It’s enclosed in a metal canister.

** I have purchased one and cannot find where the old element is? **

Than I guess you didn’t check the original to see make sure it was actually the problem or not??

There are lots of things which can cause a ‘no heat’ condition in an electric dryer. The element is just one of them (although one of the more common causes). You can read about other possible causes at the following link (in case you need to look elsewhere).

    ** Have a GE Dishwasher, model #Gsd4310 **

That is only *part* of a model number. The only reliable place to get the complete model number is off the appliance’s model and serial number tag located *on the dishwasher itself*.

You can find tips for locating the model number tag on your appliances in the ‘Repair Parts’ section of my site linked below.

** Found the reason. Busted drain solenoid. Does anyone know what part number to get to replace it? **

Luckily the complete model number is not needed for that particular part as almost all GE dishwasher (except specialty ones) use the same drain solenoid. You can see it at the following link:

** Replaced the heating element and the thermal fuse, no help… **

    Were they defective?

** Was going to try the Thermal cutoff and thermastat next….Any other ideas ? **

I do not usually recommend throwing parts at an appliance hoping to see if one of them sticks.

There are lots of things which can cause a ‘no heat’ condition in an electric dryer. Each would have to be *tested* for one at a time until the cause in your case is found.

The most common possibilities are listed at the following link.

** where can I find some Harvest Gold appliance paint. **

If this is for the sink (which you mentioned in your other forum message), there is not usually any “paint” which will work well… for long.

Sinks are usually porcelain and will not accept most paints. You’ll likely need to find a *porcelain repair kit* and use that. I’ve never seen such a repair kit available in a spray.

But if you want, you can see a couple of appliance paints, touch-ups and also porcelain repair kits at the following link:

    LINK > http://www.appliance411.com/data.php?rcp=34%26AccCatID%3D12

There are various shades of harvest gold touch-ups available for appliances in small touch bottles and spray bombs:

** [Maytag LAT8504] washer wouldn’t fill this morning, and when I removed the contol panel I found that the fuse next to the door switch was blown. I’m going to replace it today but, from the way it was blown, I assume it will just blow again. **

Most likely unless you replace the lid switch at the same time. Both come together as an assembly (see the following link).

    LINK > http://www.appliance411.com/data.php?rc=1468

** Any ideas what might be wrong? **

Usually one of the switch’s contacts does not make a proper connection which causes the fuse to blow as a safety precaution.
