In my coldest room, i removed all the plaster.
Then i put 2 inches of foam board with vapor barrier aluminium on right on the wood wall.
Second a 1×3 and finally a gypsum board.
i feel the difference !
jfh1967ParticipantI put only few stainless steel screws. Then i spayed few spots of foam insulation (Low expansion). Before, i filled up the bath of water.

jfh1967ParticipantA dehumidifier is enough. Buy an hygrostat and during dry days, open the windows of your basement.
jfh1967ParticipantA 2 x4 wall works better when you had electric oulets and water pipes.
jfh1967ParticipantFirst remove the damp insulation in your attics. Let the plaster dry from above. remove all loose parts on your ceiling and replace it with regular coumpound.Your problem is that you need more ventilation in your attics.
jfh1967ParticipantSimple method.
You need 10 watts per square feet.
Use 12/2 red wire.
A breaker of 20 amps provide:
240 volts x 20 amps= 4800 watts.
For security:
4800 watts – 20%= 3840 watts.jfh1967ParticipantVaporize a solution of 25% javel water and 75 % of water.
jfh1967ParticipantAluminum will last a longer time. But take care if you use a ladder.

jfh1967ParticipantYou need a good chisel and a hammer. Remove only what’s lose.
If you want to remove a brick, use a hammer drill and make many holes all around the brick.
jfh1967ParticipantI redo my countertop too. I’m gonna use ceramic tiles cause it’s affordable and easy to do.
The nose will be made probably of stainless trim !
other ideas ?
jfh1967ParticipantAsk to someone in this web site.
jfh1967Participant1/2 imche is enough. Why not using water proof one !
jfh1967ParticipantNext time you keep water based paint for long, buy a plastic container made espacially to transfer from you metal can. Rubermaid manufacture many sizes.
