LeticiaParticipant
check the dip switches inside they come all in one direction from the manufacturer. Or possibly he got it wet or dropped it. You can get a new one at home depot. Good luck
LeticiaParticipantYeah, I agree.. just go to home depot and get a replacement remote.. that or call the 800 number in the manual and maybe the manufacturer will send you one free of charge.
LeticiaParticipantget another opinion from another mechanic. I would try smaller mom & pop type places.. then call the dealer, but they’ll always be more expensive
LeticiaParticipantyou should also take into consideration that these fans were sitting for a while before you got to them, so you will just need to let them run for a while. once they get going they should be fine. if you have any questions call the 800 number in the manual.
LeticiaParticipantI’ll try that….
LeticiaParticipantBobf is right about that. if you have the manual, call the 800 number to see if they can help, if you don’t have it, talk to the Home Depot where you got the fan about a number.
LeticiaParticipantI actually searched for it and found it there.
LeticiaParticipantGo to this site, type in the model number and then type in manual, and you can purchse one.
LeticiaParticipantyou will have to take the fan down. take the wires out by pushing in a real small screw driver where you see the wires. They come right out. Look at the switch before you remove the wires and right down what color corresponds with the marking (number or letter) on the switch, that way it’s easier to put back on. take the old switch with you so you get the same one.. you can get the switch at Home Depot or most home improvement stores.
good luck
LeticiaParticipantSure sounds like something isn’t connected properly. Could be the 9 pin connector, make sure colors are matched up or even the capacitor. I would take it down (make sure power is off) and start all over.
LeticiaParticipantAre you sure about that brand name?? I know Hunter and I know Hampton bay. do you know the model name or number?
LeticiaParticipantwhy not just get a shower curtain. You can get those poles that you twist to fit… that way you don’t ruin your door.
LeticiaParticipantGo here:
http://www3.sears.com/type in the Model number and hit continue, that will take you to where you can purchase the manual and or parts.
LeticiaParticipantYou might have someting loose like a screw. I would take the fan down, check everything from the wires to the screws. Make sure nothing inside could be tapping. Make sure all the screws are tight and check the light fixture and if it still hums call the 800 number in the manual.
Good luck!
LeticiaParticipantThat’s just for the remote. If you still can’t locate it, go to the Homedepot website,
see if you can find your fan to find the name and then call 877-527-0317, they will give you another number and that will be the number for the Manufacturer. goodluck -
