what kind of fan is it?? do you know what model? Normally, the remote receiver is in the mounting bracket under the canopy, or in the housing of the motor. If you tell me the model, I might be able to tell you where it’s at.

Youll have to go into the fan, it could be in the mounting bracket or in the motor casing. It’ll more than likely be black.

Change the dip switches in the remote and the fan of the one you want to change.

You can replace it. You’ll have to take the fan down, make sure the power is off. take off the switch and take it with you to the local hardware store or homedepot, make sure you know what wire goes where… make a note of it, so that you can put it pack the same… good luck

There could be a number of reasons why the fan only works on one speed. it could be the 9 pin connector inside the fan, could be that the capacitor is no longer functioning, could be that you have it connected to a light dimmer and it wasn’t installed properly.

There’s a chance you bent the Blade Brackets. If you secured the electrical box, rated to support at least 50lbs for ceiling fans, to a stud, beam or Saf-T brace,
and you are sure the ball of down rod has been set correctly on the Ceiling mounting plate or bracket, then what you have is bent brackets. That can’t be fixed. To know if its the brackets, hold a yard stick to the ceiling vertically close to the fan to the end of the blades, slowly spin (by hand) the blades and check that they hit at the same exact spot on the yard stick, if they vary slightly, they are bent. I would call the manufacturer and see if new ones can be sent.

Theres a clip under the sink connected to the rod. unclip it, and the rod will become free and you can remove the plug.

If it’s the pull chain you can replace it. You’ll have to take the fan down, Make sure the power is off. Open up the fan and where the wires are in the switch push in a pointed object or a real small screwdriver. The wires will come out. I would write down what color wire goes where, if you forget or need help let me know. take the old swtich with you so you get the same one, you can get it at the Home Depot. Good luck.

Did you change the bulb? Maybe it’s that simple.

The “eye” or the remote receiver is usually located in the canopy or in the fan motor assembly.

I think if it’s messy, with cars on the lawn and unkept, you could talk to someone at city hall. Usually there is something that can be done. Don’t go “to explore back there” since you are indicating that it seems unsafe (dogs). Go to city hall, call your council memeber, talk to the local police. They might have a few suggestions for you. Good luck!

Not sure what your problem is? If the Dip switches are different, the problem should be gone.

There are different type capacitors, what I would do first, before you buy one is call the manufacturer. Get the number from your manual and see if they can send you one. If not, then I would take the old one with you to the store. Try Homedepot or Lowes.
