The real question is:
WHAT do you have now and HOW can it be “fixed” ?
doug seibertParticipantThe actual latch is located inside the top of the column…….access thru the top of the column……
The handle at the front of the saw connects long rods to the latch……..
Open the top and see if the latch is working…..clean and lube any working parts……
Visit Sears Parts and enter Model # ……….See the UNIT diagram……a replacement Manual is available…….

doug seibertParticipantAn old fuse box was often constructed at the jobsite……..containing the fuse/circuits required at that time……..
An additional 30 AMP 2-pole circuit may not be available in the existing box……
The recourse is to have a subpanel installed for the dryer……..

doug seibertParticipantThe two Black wires under the one screw needs to change……twist them together with a short piece of Black wire and a wirenut and attach that pigtail to the switch…..
Connect the WHITE wire (it’s actually a HOT wire and should be marked black) to the other screw on the switch…….
The ground wire if available connects to the green screw on the yoke……..
doug seibertParticipantThe door installation will require removing a large portion of the wall structure and adding a new header and supports……Interior and exterior finishes……
This job is beyond most DIY’ers……..
doug seibertParticipantThat’s an epoxy …dried on fabic…..
I think you have a new pair of paintpants
doug seibertParticipant“…i have three wires ,black white red and copper ground…..”
Those (4) ceiling wires….
the WHITE is the NEUTRAL and YES gets wired to the fan WHITE
the COPPER wire is the GROUND and YES gets wired to the fan GREEN
the RED and the BLACK are HOT conductors…..they both or individually may be “switched”….on dimmers…3-way switches….or always HOT….
Test the wires to determine which…..Carefully with the power ON…..and the switch(s) OFF…..Use a tester or testlamp to check for voltage between the white and red……and the white and black………Lamp ON indicates an ALWAYS ON power supply…..
RETEST using the switch(s) to determine which wire is switched……….Want the LIGHT to be switched at the wall?….wire the BLUE wire to the conductor that is switched…….
