“…i have three wires ,black white red and copper ground…..”

      Those (4) ceiling wires….

the WHITE is the NEUTRAL and YES gets wired to the fan WHITE

the COPPER wire is the GROUND and YES gets wired to the fan GREEN

the RED and the BLACK are HOT conductors…..they both or individually may be “switched”….on dimmers…3-way switches….or always HOT….

Test the wires to determine which…..Carefully with the power ON…..and the switch(s) OFF…..Use a tester or testlamp to check for voltage between the white and red……and the white and black………Lamp ON indicates an ALWAYS ON power supply…..

RETEST using the switch(s) to determine which wire is switched……….Want the LIGHT to be switched at the wall?….wire the BLUE wire to the conductor that is switched…….
