you can “soften” the corners with a cheese cloth.
HandymanParticipantHandymanParticipantThat was half brown and half white.
The white half had the word “Face” on it and the brown half had the word “Butt” on it.

HandymanParticipantOr are objects closer than they appear?
seriously. It depepends on the adhesive you used. Generally acetone or mineral spirits will loosen the glue. may need to use a childs paint brush to dab it around the edges. work the razor blade behind it dab some more. be sure not to get either in your eyes as you will probably be looking up at the button.
HandymanParticipantIf you have access apply a fiberglass patch to the underside.
HandymanParticipantYou can even use the shower curtain for a truly trashy look.
I personally would pick up a garden gate.that said
As long as it is just to prevent them from going up OK.Don’t put a shower rod at the top of the stairs though as you do not want them to push these things out and do an impression of Superman. or climb them like a ladder.

Then evacuate the house open all the windows and get as much air to this room as possible.Follow the directions on the chemical container and buy a floor scraper and a box of Rags.
Do not get the chemical on your skin and follow all safety procedures (especially eye protection) and you will have this done in an afternoon.
HandymanParticipantThey may have similar or universal parts. I scoured the Internet and found a business address for “Probilt of Tennessee” Address: 3015 John Sevier Hwy. S.E. Knoxville, Tennessee 37914, USA (865)-522-0600
Then I googled that phone number and came up with Jeld-Wen Mill works.
They are one of the largest manufacturers of Windows and Doors and maybe they purchased Probilt.
I would contact them:
800-535-3936 (800-JELD-WEN)
Monday – Friday, 6am – 5pm PST orhttp://www.jeld-wen.com/about/contact.cfm
Good Luck.
HandymanParticipantthat ants will take back to the nest.
I would also use some of the powders that contain boric acid
sometimes they will keep returning because the nest is large and they are reproducing
HandymanParticipantthis came in from a visitor named Jay:
“The Home Depot has a universal latch made by Wright for 1 1/2″ storm doors. It has 3″ hole spacing just like my door. You may need shims to build up a mount for the strike plate (they provide them for free if you call). I re-spraypainted the original knob and kept it, instead of using the new knob, which is not very big compared to the original. Of course, the latch is the part that I needed to replace on the original, and it is a lever handle type, instead of one of those with a retracting plastic piece that eventually begins to wear out. Keep the replacement knob in case the original’s springiness wears out, but I don’t anticipate any problems with the old one. The new one cost $8.97 as opposed to Forever Door’s $43.00!! The gent in the doorknob dept. at the Home Depot was quite impressed with my solution, as he was sending many customers to millwork to special order new sets ($$$). There are a lot of these doors in this area (Buffalo). I’ve fixed two so far.”
HandymanParticipantbut i agree with the other posters.
