ParticipantFirst sand and clean all wood surfaces to be white washed. This process will bring out the wood’s grain with white but other colors can be easily substituted. First brush on a light coat of flat, oil-base paint then before it sets, wipe much of it off with a clean dust free rag; the more paint you removed, the more texture/grain will be visible. Repeat until you get the desired tone. If you wait too long before wiping, the paint will set and be difficult to remove. When this happens use a rag dipped in mineral spirits to remove the semi-set paint. While in the process of applying generally, wipe off most of the paint as you can more easily go back and apply more than remove the old. Take your time and be sure the surface is free of all dust before starting.

ParticipantMany people have asked for parts and manuals for old and discontinued stoves.
We have some information but we do not sell or service:
http://fireplaces.discussions.tommmymac.us/There are many places that craft parts that may fit or be retrofitted to a discontinued item.
Here is just a couple.

ParticipantIn the next several weeks, generally on Wednesdays the ad placements and sizes are going to move around. The internet keeps changing and web sites are testing new formats and sizes. Next week that same ad box will move to the right side of the page from the left.
Thanks to the volunteer moderators on this site the forum content, which we feel is great, is FREE. We do however need revenue to pay to keep the site and its content live somehow. We hope to provide this content without overtaxing the visitor’s patience with Las Vegas type ads. I hope this answered some questions and I am always available to answer specific questions regarding the site. Thanks,

ParticipantHey guys. This pump is as an ejector for his washing machine. So this pump is used to pump soapy water. I let him know that the pump may easily be choked with soap residue and scum as well as hair and such. Cleaning is probably the best answer rather than buying parts. He also priced a new pump at $78. If he does end up needing parts I advised him to just buy the new one. Rather than try to find parts that may or may not match an old pump and taking it in for repair would be more expensive than new.
