You got the water because the gutter was overflowing during an exceptional downpoor. It was like pouring hundreds of gallons of water next to your foundation and hoping for it to not leak. You may want to make sure your dirt is graded to slope away from your house and be sure your downspouts are OPEN along with eves.

Does it seem like an area you could tile with not too much problem? Maybe you could tile up both sides and along the top of the range. Just a thought~

I noticed a blade loose on one of my Hunter fans and went fan to fan and tighted up all loose blades. Had no idea they would get loose by themselves. Would be a good idea for all to check em out, i know it suprised me.

Just remember wet rots wood and rotted wood doesnt fix itself. I would take a walk around up there and look to find any soft spots that need attn now or maybe look around the chimney flashing –fireplace too. Check the vallys also and make sure the trees are trimmed as not to hit the houseand create leaks. Just a hint when you redo your roof think strongly about putting on ice and water too

the only strips I would remove are the ones that would be on the edge of the roof..If you don’t remove them they will be flapping in the wind for awhile and looks kinds bad too

Hey Jasper you have covered everything but possably a tab in the socket that has been pressed in. Every now and then a light just won’t work and all that needs to be done is the little tab needs to be pulled out a tiny bit to make contact with the bulb.Thats alot of times the first thing I check after replacing a new bulf that doesnt work.

heck no ..pull the door and get to home depot and grab a new sill and put it in there. Remember to caulk where you need to and be sure to level everything..nothing worse than a crooked door.

My son is a roofer and said that if at all possable to wait till somebody will help to do it right as it is pretty tricky..You may not only fall but you will most likely break several tiles and chances are will not get it done right and have to get someone to come fix your prob anyway–besides the fact your wife will get mad and break your neck to boot! If it was just shingle ..go for it but tile and shakes have to be done just right. Good Luck
