My living room has vaulted ceiling with a pine wall and on each end of the wall there is a wire sticking out about 8′ off the floor. There are 2 wires. I always wanted to know why they were there, so today I climbed up and pulled the wire a bit and found it looks like telephone cable with 3 or 4 conductors-green, red, etc.
I unscrewed a phone jack and the wires looked identical to it. However on the other end of the wall the wires looked a bit different.
Does anyone know what these 2 cables are for and why they are just sticking out up there. I can’t imagine anyone installing phone jacks way up there.
