ParticipantGet someone who is handy and have them take apart fan..You can rehook chain or if switch is broke you can get new switch to install. Make sure electric is off before you start. While he is doing that maybe a grilled steak would be in order~~

ParticipantI would go straight to Home Depot and go to the paint dept and they will set you up and while your there pick the colors you want(hint ) may want to think about spray cans…

Participantyou could try this..Take the mud that you use for drywall tape and roll it on the celing with a paint roller(use a long stick). You can get different textures with heavy or light amounts you put on..Can also paint it and doesnt look too bad. Good luck

ParticipantYou must first paint your walls with one of a few different products that will hide waterstains. A couple of products are Bin and there is also Kilz both I have found work equally well. Then you just paint your wall the color you want

ParticipantThe very first thing I would do is take out the trap and install a new one . There is probably old soap, greese and you name it in there. your problems should be over.

Participantwe have a high water table and have been using a Multi-Flo system for about 14 years..they say you could drink it when it comes out the other end but we have ours going into a leach field it has filters a motor that runs all the time and we get it looked at twice a yr. just to make sure it runs smooth.. the builders said some places he understands they drain it right on the ground…good luck\

ParticipantMy son is a roofer and told me that there are some people that get a ridge vent and the crooked roofers don’t cut the roof to let the ridge vent work—-roof isnt even vented tho the owner paid for it!!

ParticipantI would go to the store and buy a thing that rolls on the wall and cuts the wallpaper(store sells a tool just for that)and then soak the wall with warem soapy water to remove the wallpaper.. do it once do it right..

ParticipantFirst of all have someone get on roof and inspect your gutters and check your downspouts to make sure they arent clogged. Make sure you have enough pipe along the ground to transport the water away from the house (Mimimum 4-5 ft). to have been told right about the landscaping ..it has to slop away from the house. You have to think that during a storm thousands of gallons of water comes off your roof and yard heading to your fondation and the thing you have to do is redirect it.

ParticipantI would go to the basement and find the hot air pipe for that room and see if there is a lever to turn to shut off the air to that room ..If so turn it and shut off the air to the room and do your remodeling.
