LarryGParticipant
after the leak is corrected, chop out the old wood and replace it with a new piece.
LarryGParticipantyou didn’t tell us if the pilot was standing or does it even have a pilot(i think it does)in other words more info is needed.
LarryGParticipantif you know what breaker controlled the kitchen light then you can shut that breaker down then check everything that stopped working when you turned it off.if not then it’s trial and error.check for tripped gfi’s, backstabbed outlets and switches, and other fixtures in the same run as the kitchen light.sometimes you can have somebody tap lightly on each outlet(while you watch the light)if it blinks on then you know the problem is in that plug.sometimes this works.check for power not only across white and black but across black and ground as well.sometimes it is the neutral that came off(50-50 chance)which in case you can easily identify the controlling breaker.good luck and be careful.
LarryGParticipantcheck with your local heatng and cooling contractors.sometimes they save radiators for resale when they do a conversion.
LarryGParticipantmy understanding was 1/3 of the height above the ground level so if your fence is 6ft high 1/3 of that is 2ft.2ft is plenty deep in my opinion.
LarryGParticipanti could be wrong but i thought the posts needed to be 1/3 into the ground.anyway thats how i always did it and never had a problem.
LarryGParticipantpull the release cord to determine if the problem is in the door itself or the opener.in other words see if the door will open manually.maybe a spring broke or a cable gave out then once you see what is wrong then you can fix it.

LarryGParticipantsounds bad.i could go on and on about what to do but your best bet at this point is to get an enviromental company over there and have them evaluate and provide a plan to remedy the situation.before you get sick.
LarryGParticipantyes i have.in a bathroom.make sure walls are clean. prime first with kilz or bullseye 123.if this is a bathroom use mildew resistant paint.
years ago and not one problem!
August 25, 2004 at 7:01 am in reply to: Changing old Bathroom Light switch plug to new GFCI outlet to meet new code #250471LarryGParticipantit could be a switch loop where you need to remove a tab on the device to keep the switch independent from the receptical.without seeing it, it is difficult to say.
LarryGParticipantas long as the trap is retaining water then there must be a sludge buildup within the passageway from the overflow opening to the sink drain.so try stuffing an old washcloth or something into the sink drain and pour bleach into the overflow and let it set for a while.
LarryGParticipantas long as it blocks the air infiltration it is good.the thing about pure silicone caulk is it will not accept paint.
