I have yet in 8 years, to find an installer who did not charge more for concrete install.
the glue to install the pad, and also they cannot use a stinger to stretch. they have to use an extension to stretch from the walls instead of the floor.
it takes more time and effort, and if anyone charges the same, they are in the minority.

hire a pro, take a piece out of the closet, use it to repair the hole, then put something as close as possible back in the closet area.

oh yea, and tell your landlord 🙂

Steam is the best way to get it out.

    I missed the concrete part.
Your right, the new underlay is not an option.
I would not assume no asbestos for a house built in 75.

be carefull about asbestos encapsulated in the old lino. Get it tested if your not sure.
I would lay new 1/4 ply over the 2 layers and start there.
    Asbestos is a nasty thing…..

in 8 years, none of my laminate squeaked. Your tounges will break if the floor was not leveled to spec.

The distributer is Wanke. Find a local dealer that has them as a distributer…
it will be a different dye lot though.

You might want to make sure you need to first.

What is your plan for your next flooring?

Everyone else here said all I was going to say in my response.
I take time out to help in detail, but IMO this is not a DIY job. Very rarely do I say “hire a pro”
    but in this case
    HIRE A PRO!

    oh yea….lighten up a bit first….

you will be happy with your decision to hire out a pro in this case…it could look very good if done properly by someone with experience. It can look like “crap” if someone without experience does it.

But what the heck, give it a try, but if my response got you frustrated, I can only imagine the frustration you will experience when attempting this kind of work.

good luck, you may just surprise yourself.

usa an embossing leveler, and that should work, but the manufacturer will not warranty the vinyl.
