My DVD player gets stuck at “loading”; it won’t play anything. any ideas?

I have both a Toshiba and a Sony; both have the same problem. I insert the disk, they try loading, then they will give the “please eject the disk” message. People have told me that I need to clean the lenses, so I used a lens cleaning DVD on both of them, but it didn’t do any good. Any ideas?

Are you using a CD-R or CD-RW disk?

it has also happened to me. I had to send it in for repairs. not sure what they did, but lens cleaning was not my answer either.
