Carpet Laying on Cement

I recall when I had carpet installed on a slab that the only difference (other than using tack strips with concrete nails, rather than nails for wood flooring) was that the installer spread a liquid cement before placing the carpet pad. Otherwise the installation went the same as in the rest of the house with wooden floors. If I was charged a premium, it wasn’t itemized.
