If the floor mat had a rubber backing it is very possible that it is responsible for the discoloration in your flooring, and possibly the lifting as well. Certain chemicals in the rug backing may have been absorbed by the linoleum.

*** **** does not participate in this forum, other than lending his name to it. However, there are lots of experienced individuals who do and may be able to assist you with your issue. It would be much easier to read your post if you were to use upper case only for proper names and to begin a sentence. Thanks

Is there some reason why this is not the landlord’s problem? Regardless of whose problem it is, a sump pump is not normally associated with toilet opperation. You said it is backing up in the toilet and bathroom. Do you mean ground water is seeping up from outside through the basement wall and/or floor? Does the level of water in the toilet also increase due to wet weather? More info is needed.

The first thing to do is to determine the cause of the problem. I the sub floor/finished floor water damaged and sinking down? Is the rim joist rotted and compressing? Is the foundation sinking into the soil? Different causes require different remedies.
Removing the whole wall sounds a little drastic. Is the house over a crawl space, or is there a full basement? What is the condition of the foundation, footings, etc? More information is needed to be able to advise you.

I’ll bet you could work a single edge razor blade under the mirror support, working around the edge.

This is not an answer to your problem, but a suggestion for the next time you tackle such a project. Whenever I need to remove linkage from a small engine carburetor, I take a couple of close-up photos with my digital camera. This is a big help when I reassemble the machine.

The use of punctuation and occasional upper case would make your posting much more readable and increase the possibility of a helpful response.

Do you have a gas stove, or electric?

I would try automotive rubbing compound and see if that wouldn’t return the gloss finish to the countertop.

What are you nailing into, and with what length nails? If it is the drywall, you cannot expect it to hold the flooring/ceiling. You would need to first install furring strips onto which you could nail the flooring overhead.

I don’t know anything specifically about your saw, but if it is like most two wheel saws, the tracking adjustment is a screw on the upper wheel. If the tracking adjustment will not make the blade track properly, the rubber tires on the wheels may be deterioriated beyond their useful life and must be replaced.

How about insulation foam such as Great Stuff?

An epdm liner with mortar base is a generally accepted method of constructing most modern shower enclosures. The advantage of this is you are not limited to a “standard size” manufactured pan.

I had to do just this in a rental house I was preparing for sale a few months ago. I just used a single edge razor blade to remove the little suckers. It did the job, removing the adhesive as well.
