When you look back through the archives, the only threads you read are “send me plans, please”. Take a look for yourself.

You can try a few different things.
    1) wash them down with TSP(tri-sodium phosphate). Make sure you rinse really well.

    2) lightly scuff them up with either a peice of sandpaper or sanding block, so that the new paint will adhere better.

Also, it doesn’t hurt to call your local hardware store and consult a professional paint expert for a second opinion. It’s always good to have a contingency plan.

    Hope this helps:)

I POURED THROUGH ABOUT 5,000 THREADS ON HOW TO BUILD RABBIT HUTCHES AND NOT ONE GAVE ANY PLANS OR HOW-TO-BUILD. EVERYONE JUST WANTS TO KNOW HOW TO DO IT, BUT NO ONE KNOWS HOW. I AM AMAZED THAT THERE ISN’T ANYONE ON THIS FORUM THAT KNOWS HOW TO USE A SEARCH ENGINE TO FIND A SET OF PLANS TO BUILD A RABBIT HUTCH. YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW WHAT WORDS TO SEARCH FOR.

SO HERE THEY ARE. AND THERE ARE SEVERAL TO CHOSE FROM. YOU MUST HAVE ADOBE ACROBAT READER TO READ THESE PLANS.

Do you know what company made the ones you already have on your floor? What is the name of the color? Did you keep a sample of what you pulled up?

The best advice is to call around to some of the different masonry companies in your area. They may recommend bleaching, but they may also suggest power washing and then sealing it with a concretes sealer. There are virtually thousands of products that you could use to clean it. My suggestion is to check with professionals and go from there.

Paint usually dries a shade darker than when it is wet. Carl was right. You won’t get the actual color until the paint “cures”. At my store, we use the MatchRite system that usually is right on when we do a paint scan. There are times when bad things happen to paint, like if the person scanning doesn’t really understand what they are doing and they take a bad measurement. Make sure you are dealing with professionals when it comes to this or you could end up with something awful.

Make them likable with a new coat of paint in the color of your choosing. You’d be surprised what a color change can do to your attitude towards them. I myself repainted my kitchen, because it was a very icky navajo white. I chose a color that I felt was a comfortable color for my kitchen. My house was built in the 1920’s and moved here in the 1950’s. It has 10ft ceilings throughout the house and the color I chose made my kitchen look bigger and not so closed in. Try it you might like it.

I know from experience you can use hardibacker for tile backing on walls, but whether or not you can use it on floors is unknown. It usually comes in 3×5 sheets, and is reasonably priced. What about using 1/4″ underlayment that is like an AC plywood that is smooth on one side? Check with your local hardware store and see what they suggest. Most stores will have a Contractor Sales area and the people are pretty concise about answering questions like that.

    I BOUGHT A 1989 CLASS B MOTORHOME THAT WAS
NEAR PERFECT CONDITION, OTHER THAN NEEDING NEW CURTAINS. LIKE PLUMBER TOM WAS SAYING, IT IS UNFORTUNATE FOR YOU THAT IT IS IN SUCH DISREPAIR THAT NO ONE WILL EVEN CONSIDER YOUR ASKING PRICE. MY SUGGESTION: DROP THE PRICE BY $4,000 AND HOPE THAT SOMEONE IS DESPERATE ENOUGH TO WANT A MONEY PIT. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Sounds like you got some bad paint that didn’t get mixed properly, or the pigment was bad.

You CAN paint over oil based paint with either another oil-based paint, or with acrylic latex paint. You cannot paint oil over latex though. Just give the surface a light scuffing with a sanding block, so the paint will adhere better. Or if you wish, you can sand all the old paint off and start over. It’s your choice.

In some parts of the country, some people use wax specifically designed for butcher blocks. It gets into the cracks and pitts and seems to last longer than oil. We carry a wax product just for butcher blocks. Check your local True Value. Help is just around the corner!

IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU HAVEN’T MET YOUR NEW NEIGHBORS YET. HAVE YOU ASKED THEM IF MAYBE THEY ARE ONLY STAYING IN THE FIFTH WHEEL WHILE THEY BUILD THEIR DREAM HOME? FIND OUT SPECIFICS. ASK IF THEY ARE ONLY THERE ON VACATION. TALK WITH THEM. KEEP AN OPEN LINE OF COMMUNICATION. BE HONEST WITH THEM ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL, BUT BE CIVIL ABOUT IT. THEY WOULD PROBABLY RESPECT YOU MORE IF THEY HEARD ABOUT YOUR ISSUES FROM YOU PERSONALLY THEN TO READ ABOUT IT ON SOME FORUM.

TRY LOOKING AT LOWES.COM, TRUEVALUE.COM OR ANY OF THE BIG HARDWARE CHAIN STORES NEAR YOU. USUALLY IF THEY DON’T HAVE IT IN STOCK, MOST WILL BEND OVER BACKWARD TO FIND SOMEWHERE TO ORDER IT FROM . ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK.
