for estimate travel, contract signing, & couple trips to complete the work, your budget needs to be reblt 1st.

if you got a quote, curious why work wasn’t done,,, no, conc doesn’t like salt but there’re other ways to rid conc of snow/ice,,, you need to custom bld to fit the situation imo,,, work on that budget & make it realistic,,, we take no work under $2,500-costs (licensing/vehicle/fuel/insurance/tool investment) are increasing exponentially – may soon raise to $3,000.

a dust shield over your grinder, you can eliminate 99% of the dust,,, you WILL need a decent wet/dry vac better’n the apron stores sell, tho.

we prefer turbo cup wheels rather’n the dble concentric type as they’ll ‘ throw ‘ the dust instead of clogging the segs.

fuel more’n likely,,, fact it runs on ether suggests that,,, too much ether & you’ll pop valves, burn seats, etc.

    replacement engines’re cheap, tho.

& tell him/her to go back to idiot school or come over to help,,, then rent a pressure washer,,, curious why you used white cement,,, unless flags’re laid over conc, mortar’s not used as a general rule – just sand,,, did you happen to read 1 of the books avail at the apron store on patio bldg ?

have heard of a new product call’d ‘polymeric sand’ for grouting but no personal experience.

& can easily/quickly find the trouble spot,,, saves lots of digging & you won’t be hitting your head w/hammer every 3 mos.

& easily replaceable/repairable,,, call any horse hair supplier or lumberyard,,, i’m ignorant of ‘horse haired drywall’,,, repairing walls’re fairly easy if you have the right horse hair/plaster mix,,, you might could even substitute conc fibers if not enough hair’s avail OR the correct horse breed.

mix the hair into wet plaster batch & trowel it onto lath,,, you can still buy lathwork.

congrats on tackling this project,,, i know no one who has modern methods/mtls knowledge who’d even consider this work,,, let us know how you make out !!!

but, since none can see your house from our monitors, get a pro structural engineer’s opinion about method to accomplish this result,,, your tub supplier has static/dynamic weights which’ll be nec for the engineer.
