preasure wash first as it will knock off a lot of the loose paint. just do not get too close to the wood, as the high preasure can destroy wood. it is best to use a 1500-2000 psi washer for the house siding and tri,

Where is the crack? is it a long straight crack like where a seam in the drywall is at? if it is a seam cracking, either there was not joint tale applied, or the paper tape has torn. the best fix would be to remove the mud and tape, then install new mesh tape and use drywall joint compound to refinish the area. if it is a random crack, you will need to apply mesh joint tape over the cracks, then use drywall joint compound over the tape that is feathered over a 12-14 inch wide seam so the when painted, it is hard to see the repair.

you can purchase appliance touchup paint to match the color at an appliance parts store. use several coats to fill the void, lightly sanding after filled using 600 grit wet-or-dry sandpaper. before sanding, mask around the repair and use care so as not to scratch the surrounding paint when using the sandpaper

either can be used, but exterior plywood or 3/4 OSB sheathing would be better, as boot are more tolerant of moisture. MDF tends to swell and delaminate when exposed to moisture as in a countertop near the sink.

you need an ammeter that will measure the current of the circuit. for a 20 amp circuit, us a meter of at least 25 amps. then you will need a power reostat for a load and increase the load slowl until the breaker trips, the amps reading onthe meter when the breaker trips should be near or at the rating of the breaker. Now a question, WHY do you need to test the breaker? if you think the breaker is tripping too son, that normally indicates you are overloading the circuit. If that is the case, you can use an ammeter to verify the overload. it would be best to use a tateltale meter so that the higest reading is retained until reset.

I agree with Doug on this. I helped my son replace a slider with french doors. also at the same time moved the door opening 32 inches over and closed off the one side to keep a 6 foot opening. we had to support the ceiling while removing the header and moving it. total time with 2 people working was 2 days from start to finish, now counting painting. if it was to be done again, i would tell son to get others to help or hire it done :o).

shellac is thinned with alcohol. I have never tried using it in a garden sprayer. I would use a very cheap sprayer just in case it could not be cleaned after use. when I tried using a garden sprayer on the deck with oil based stain, I could not get it to work later although it had been flushed with mineral spirits, the nozzle interior was gunned up and could not be removed

for the nailers, you will need a compressor that can give you a minimum of 100 PSI pressure. for other tools, it is the volume of air that determines size. I have a 20 gallon 2 hp that is ok for everything except painting and sand blasting. with these, you fork for 1-2 minutes and wait 3-4 minutes for the compressor to catch up on the air supply.

a good source of a large, used air compressors is the classified newspaper ads and also you may find a good deal at a pawn shop as the pawn shops do not like BIG items taking up room on the floor.

turn off the water supply at the main supply line or at the meter. after shutoff, replace the bib washer inside the shutoff valve at the same time you are repairing the toilet.
