Fluidmaster 400A Fill valve.

If you want to play with your existing fill valve, start by removing the float ball. Shake it to be sure there’s no water in it,, that would indicate a hole and needs replacing.
If thats ok, turn off water supply, remove float arm, cover and cap to get to the seal. I “think” theres a small tab that has to be pulled up to release the cap on your valve. Remove seal, clean and inspect for hole or crack. Place large cup over fill valve and turn water on to flush out any debris. Replace seal with new if needed ( probably about $5.00) reassemble and give it a try.
