Thanks Billhart, I think that the outlets failed when an old smoker was being run on that circuit and fried it.
tenpinParticipantI think you will have to stain it again to get an even amount of stain on the deck. Maker sure you use a brush and not a roller or pad. Stain from wet to dry and apply evenly.
tenpinParticipantclick the picture button this may free the rewind button.
tenpinParticipantDo what you were doing, but before you paint use a shellac base primer.
tenpinParticipantPut a tester on the feeds to see if there is power there. If there is replace the receptacle.
tenpinParticipantI sanded mine and then used a tack cloth to get the dust off and then polyurethane it, lite sanded it with fine paper and polyurethane, and did that two more times. Came out great.
tenpinParticipantIf you have a monitoring service I’m sure their is a dialer already hooked up to your system. You may only have to change it to your cell phone number instead of the monitoring service. The dialer dials when the system is tripped.
tenpinParticipantThey sell tile bits for your drill.
tenpinParticipantLaid a new bathroom floor over old one about ten years ago and have never had a problem,
tenpinParticipantMake sure the flang is screwed into the floor.
tenpinParticipantIf you are installing new carpet leave them and the installer will love you.
tenpinParticipantThere was tile squares over plywood and I removed them and tried to tile after scrapping off adhesive but tiles tiles starting coming up after a few days due to adhesive that was still on the plywood. I then covered the floor with 1/4 inch plywood and drove a nail about every six inches or so and use quick set to install the tiles. It has been down about 3 years and no problems.
tenpinParticipantI would cover the existing plywood with a layer of 1/4 inch plywood and nail about every six inches to make it solid. You then will only need to put quickset to lay your tiles. I had a problem installing over floor with adhesive, tiles lifted after a few days.
tenpinParticipantWhen I did my bath I just tiled over the existing floor with quickset and it worked out fine. It’s been down 10 years and never had a problem. Don’t know about the walls, because I tore out the old ones and resheeted the walls.
