Just wanted you to know how very much I appreciated your input on my steps. Happy to know that the problem can be solved in this manner.

Thanks Carl. Have you had any problems with shifting when padding is used only on the tread?

Thanks Carl..i didn’t want to shout…but it is hard to see tiny print…I just found the font enlarger….this is much better. The entire step-area will be carpeted.
Will just paddinging the tread area make the carpet and pad shift around? Have you tried this method with satisfaction? Are there any tips for this type of installation? Thanks!

TO CLARIFY…THE STEPS WILL BE COMPLETELY COVERED BY CARPET. (THE METAL RODS WOULD BE USED WITH A RUNNER.) THE PROBLEM IS….WITH PADDING ON THE RISER, THE STEP BECOMES MORE SHALLOW. THANKS MOM K

I NEED TO KNOW. IS THERE IS A SOLUTION TO CARPETING SHALLOW STAIR TREADS? IS THERE A WAY TO OMITT THE PADDING ON THE FACE OF THE RISER? THANKS MOM K
