ceilingfanrepairParticipant
Here’s a thread on another forums where someone was dealing with the exact same problem– looks like it might even be you posting in two locations!
In case it’s not, or in case there are others reading with a similar problem, here’s the thread:

ceilingfanrepairParticipantThere are a few different possible wiring scenarios but by far the most likely would be this:
Black-black, white-white, striped-red, green-bare.

ceilingfanrepairParticipantAre you sure you have the information correct? I dont recall that model offhand. Casablanca had a model called the Mercury with a halogen light.
If you send me a picture of the fan I may be able to identify it and/or explain how to change the light!
ceilingfanrepairParticipantThe suggestion to look on eBay was a good one. The other option would be to call around to different Home Depot stores and see if there is one still sitting in stock somewhere or as a display.
Lastly, Hampton Bay fans are made by Minka, King of Fans, and SMC, so check out those brands’ offerings and see if they have anything similar.

ceilingfanrepairParticipantThere are a few different ways it could be, but by far the most common:
Every color matches up except the blue and the red. So that’s black-black (hot for motor) white-white (neutral) green-green (ground) and then blue-red (hot for light).

Good luck!
ceilingfanrepairParticipantIt sounds like either a bad capacitor or a bearing issue. Follow the instructions on this troubleshooting guide to determine which:

Also, and this goes along with bearings, the fan may need oiling. Here is information on that:
ceilingfanrepairParticipantIn this particular case I would probably also do wiremold. It’s also an option to fish a wire through the ceiling down to the wall . . . but this can be particularly tricky, and if you have to ask how to do it you probably dont want to undertake it. So I would say wiremold or call an electrician!
Make sure the fan is mounted securely to a ceiling joist.
What did you do with the old fan?

ceilingfanrepairParticipantUnforunately Hampton Bay does not offer anything online. You can contact the company directly to see if they will send you a manual, otherwise go down to Home Depot and get them to open a box.
As for the remote, again, contact the company, or use a universal replacement.

ceilingfanrepairParticipantHave you tried back at Lowes? The first step is always to try where you bought the fan. The second step is to try any lighting or hardware store to see if they are a standard replacement. The last option is to contact the company.

ceilingfanrepairParticipantSo, the light will not cut off, or will not cut on? In any case, since the light is indicating on the remote itself, it sounds like the problem is in the receiver. You can contact Hampton Bay for a replacement receiver, or take the fan back to Home Depot for a whole new fan under warranty. You can always try a Universal Remote first to make sure it’s not the remote itself.
Lastly, check the connections at the light fixture to make sure that one of them is not bad.

ceilingfanrepairParticipantHampton Bay fans . . . certain models have issues, luckily they have a good warranty which Home Depot normally offers . . . just take the fan back and get a new one. If you wish to troubleshoot the problem yourself, here are instructions/suggestions:

ceilingfanrepairParticipantYou probably didnt replace it with the same type of pullchain. How many wires did the original pullchain have? Did you make careful note of what wire went where when you removed it? What is the make and model of the fan?
For more information on ceiling fan parts:
ceilingfanrepairParticipantWhat model fan is it? Are you sure it’s not a problem with the light itself, versus a problem with the remote? Does the fan or remote react in any way when you attempt to turn on the light?

And for Casablanca parts,
ceilingfanrepairParticipantChances are any light kit you can buy will work . . . send me a picture of the fan and I will confirm, and explain how to attach it.
The older Evergos are good fans, especially if you like the vintage look.
For more information on ceiling fan parts:
ceilingfanrepairParticipantDo you want the fan and light to be controlled by the wall switch together . . . or the light to be controlled by the wall switch and the fan by it’s chain?
For the former, you would connect both the black and blue wire from the fan to the hot from the switch, connect the white to neutral, and green to ground.
For the latter, connect the black wire from the fan to the hot from the attic junction, the blue from the fan to the hot from the switch, white to neutral, and green to ground.
