Now that cold weather is starting to bear down on us, we’ve decided to fire up the furnace. The only problem is that it won’t ignite. This type of furnace has no pilot light. It tries to ignite 3 times before timing out for an hour. I’ve checked that it is getting gas to it. I’ve checked all the electric connections and the breaker box to make sure it has power. Nothing.

I’d really appreciate any input from you about what might be causing this.

      Thanks!

Is the Igniter working? Take off the top panel so you can see the burner. Turn up the thermostat to call for heat. Do you see an orange glow and hear gas coming out before it shuts down? If no orange glow then your igniter is probibly shot. If you see an orange glow and hear gas comming out, but the furnace still doesn’t light, the roll out switch is probibly shot. You might need a repairman to fix it.
