      I have 2 windows that don’t stay open. It’s on one of those chain thingys. I’m assuming its the original in this condo and the unit was built in the late 80’s.

      Do I need to replace the window or is this a project I can do myself??

      Give us more details. What kind of windows ? If you see chains, you must have weights atached to !

      Opening a side sash if the mechanisim is spring loaded, could come out with damaging results to skin and worst case senario, eye damage.
