  When I turned the cut off valve under kitchen sink it broke off. How do I find out if it is sweated or threaded?

  Is it brass valve, can you see solder around valve or is it all copper valve(Chances are that it was soldered or maybe Compression fittings if it is Newer valve.
  
  doin’ it right the first time is not an option!!!
