I’d like to have my smoke alarm to have a wall switch, so I can turn it off during non-emergency situations.

Frequently when I broil a steak, or bake something that boils over in the oven it creates smoke…It is very difficult for me to get up to the ceiling to shut off that ear peircing noise. the last time I ended up pulling the whole unit off the ceiling!

Is it possible to have this hardwired alarm attached to a wall switch?

      Hi,

I’ve had the same issue myself and I bougth a smoke alarm which has built in mute/hush button.
If you can’t reach the ceeling maybe have a small stick handy to poke it.

Not sure if there is any smoke alarm that comes with option to add remote hush button.

      Good luck!
