Using Glidden Gripper to cover dark cabinets

I’m using Gliddens Gripper to cover laminated dark kitchen cabinets from the 60’s. I can still see the dark color after applying 1 coat, do I need to do 2 coats or will it be okay after I paint them. Also should I sand after each coat?

I am using a paint brush not a roller.

glidden good paint, but you must scuff sand first, wipe down with tack cloth, wipe with denatured alchole, then PRIMER…then 2 coats of paint, sand inbetween paimer aswell paint coats
