Recently we removed wallpaper. In doing so some of the dry wall paper came off with the wallpaper. We are now left with large areas of dry wall with the second layer of paper, gray, exposed and alot of loose edges. Along with the usual gouges from scraping to hard. I thought I heard of a primer that would fill in the gouges and level the rest. But checking the big box stores no one knows what I’m talking about. Any ideas or suggestions?

You usually skim coat it with drt wall compound. Use a large dry wall knife and apply some dry wall compound to the spot that you want to fill. Let it set overnight and then sand any high spots.

Let us know how it works out.

I was hoping there was an easier way to do it. I have skim coated before and I’m not looking forward to doing it again. That is why I’m looking for a heavier or textured primer.
