How do I adjust for the height difference and still get a tight seal now that my toilet is mounted on a tiled floor instead of linoleum? Should I use two wax rings, or is there a better solution?

The fool proof method is you always mount the flange on top of the finished surface. If you don’t want to do that there are extra tall wax rings out there.

you can buy one at H.D or lowes. It mounts to the top of the existing seal. Also buy a larger size wax seal for the toilet base. This will work. I tiled my bathroom 6 months ago and did this. It turned out to be a great job and my toilet did not leak.

There are several wax free toilet seals made specifically for this purpose and they are readily available at home improvement centers or plumbing supply stores.

One is the Fernco wax free toilet seal:

The other is the FluidMaster Wax Free Bowl Gasket:

      Each costs less than $10US
