To paint a steel door…..or NOT – that is the question!

I am buiding a new home and want the steel doors to match the white exerior of my home.
Should I paint the steel door white or buy one that comes in a white pre-finish?

Steel doors come pre-primed at that is all.

Steel doors must be painted to the finish you desire.

Either. Be sure to use steel metal paint rather than painting over with siding paint.
White steel metal paint tone may vary slightly from the white siding paint tone.
Let it go. Be happy with a slight tone differential.
Do not fall into the trap of painting over the white steel metal door with white house siding paint “just to match tones”.

Use an enamel paint with a good quality, fine-bristle brush.

Mine was bare for 3 years. What a mistake! I finally painted it, and it looks so much better!

Pick a complimentary colour, buy a nice wreath, and it’ll make a HUGE difference!
