years ago i had a second phone line installed in my home- a separate number. that number has been disconnected and now i have justthe one phone line. my question is can it somehow be rewired so that this second phone line can be used as another outlet for my current phone line? is it a do-it-yourself or should i hire someone? thanks for any help.

At the box outside, disconnect the black, yellow, green and red wires from the secondary phone, tie them in (at the same wire color locations) at the primary phone location (the one in use now) Voila! Two phone jack locations for the same number!

do an internet search on basic telephone wireing

you will be able to see pictures and diagrams, get actuall step by step instructions

just remember what you did, so if you screw it up you can always undo what you did and start over
