have you ever seen t1-11 installed horizontally? I am doing a remodel and about 1/4 of the house has dry rot and needs to be replaced. should i rip down all the existing t1-11 that is installed horizontally, and do it vertically, or should i only replace the rotted t1-11 and install it horizontally, matching the rest of the building. what is the building specs for t1-11?
I, likewise, have never seen it installed in this manner. The grooves will tend to absorb moisture a lot more readily when installed horizontally, thus your rotting problem. I think that it should all be removed or perhaps covered with vinyl siding if appropriate.
