      Hello,
I would like to know if anyone has ideas on how to temporarily (I am aware of the longer term fixes such as a filter, remove Hot Water Heater Anodes, etc.) remove the smell (either sulfer or iron bacteria) from our water.

We have guests coming in and I would like to do something to remove or minimize the smell for a few days. I am trying one method of raising the temperature in the Hot Water Heaters to >140 for 8 hours.

      Are there any other suggestions?

      Thanks,

      Jamie Harris

Go to any water treatment store and purchase a burper valve, they can install it, or tell you how to install it.
I have the same type of water and still have all anode rods, but no smell.

Add 1-2 gallons of chlorine bleach directly to the well.

It will shock the well water and provide you with temporary relief in most cases.

      Safe to drink.
