Anyone know if the Simplemat tile installation system works? It’s from Home Depot–sheets that are sticky on both sides–one side goes on the wall and you place the tiles on the other side. Wondering about long term–it seems too good to be true. I want to install tiles on the wall over my stove.

The guys over at JohnBridgeTileForum ….”” Tile Your World, the friendliest DIY Forum on the Internet “”…… KNOW the stuff and like it and peddle it….

BUT some “One-Post-Glass-Tile-DIYers” have reported failures……here’s a recent thread:

      Here’s the SimpleMat website:

      http://thesimplemat.com/

(the print instructions do NOT include glass tiles ?)

      “”Acceptable Tile
SimpleMat can be used with any type of ceramic, porcelain or stone tile larger than 1″ x 1″ (2.5 x 2.5 cm). Mosaic tile with an open mesh backing can also be used as long as the adhesive sticks through the mesh to the stone. Stone tile should be gauged (uniform thickness with no cracks or loose pieces) and no thicker than 1/2″ (13mm).””

      “……measure Once…..cut Twice….
throw that one away and cut a new one….”
