Just recently had this type of countertop installed in kitchen and we love it…so far…I had a big argument with the supplier because the length of time it took to install it..so I cannot get any info from them. I wanted to know how to maintain it as far as cleaning, and I heard that Silestone quartz are the only one that have what is called Microban. Its suppose to prevent bacteria to penetrate its surfaces. I don’t know if its all of the Silestone tops or select few. Does anyone know how I can find out for sure? BTW, also had a stainless sink to go with it, and was told the only thing to clean the sink with is Comet.

I had my Silestone tops installed about six months ago and I am very happy with the little maintenance that it requires. To answer your first question, yes all Silestone colors have Microban. You can get further information at their website http://www.silestoneusa.com. You can clean it with just soap and water, but you can also use ammonia based products like 409. Don’t use abrasive cleaners or caustic sodas like oven cleaners on your tops. That’s nice that you also got a stainless sink, I believe that Comet should work just fine. I hope this helps!!!
