Boght my first cordless Hitachi drill and there is nothing that i could find in the manual that says anything about a “Shift Knob”…it just shows a graphic and pointing to it. I see that i could read “Low” on it. I tried to slide it, but it won’t budge. What is its purpose? Yhanks

The slide switch on top of the drill controls the speed selection…..

LOW range for more control and torque with drive bits to fasten screws….

HIGH range for using twist drill bits….

      “……measure Once…..cut Twice….
throw that one away and cut a new one….”

rotate the drill in your hand,,, should free up the gear range selector,,, if not, return it,,, we use many hitachi tools & buy from a rebuilder here in atl.
