Roof Flashing (or lack thereof)

I have a roof that leaks because the contractors who installed the roof never placed flashing along the seams. Instead they used roof cement. The roof is 10 years old and I am looking for a temporary solution to hold me over for 5 more years when I can buy a new roof. I saw Quick Roof (which is a 6″ tape) at home depot. Will this work or is there something better that will solve my need?

Flashing belongs in valleys and where vertical walls or the chimney meet the roof and around any vents or stacks. Drip edge and rakes are also flashings. What seams are you referring to?

I am referring to the seam created when the garage meets the house. The garag was an addition so a seam (or valley) is created at the place it intersects the house.
