Considering reroof of 1900 Queen Ann, to include architectural shingle (Certainteed’s “Centennial Slate” in Fieldstone), and desire to insulate roof from the outside, utilizing insulated roof decking panels (to save time and expense).
Finding conflicting opinions regarding the necessity and wisdom of employing ventilated products (like DOW’s Celo-Vent Insulated Roof Deck) versus non-ventilated (InsulSpan’s SIP-type products).
It appears that some manufacturer’s will sustain warranties over non-insulated SIP panels, while others will not.
Anyone have the definitive word, previous experience, or directions to a source of information?
