      Hello,
I was having problems with my sears 139.53600 garage door opener, removed the motor because nothing worked. There are 3 washer at the end of the motor and then a cap. One thin washer, 1 thicker washer and I spring washer. Do not understand how these go on, or what purpose they serve. Thanks

This manual should be somewhat similar to your unit.

It does not show any such washers on the motor.

      But this might be it.

2 41C4220A Gear and sprocket assembly
      Complete with: Spring washer,
      Thrust washer, Retaining ring
      Bearing plate, Roll pins (2)
      Drive gear, Worm gear
      Helical gear w/retainer
      Grease

      This is the replacement part.
