      Hello everyone,

Pardon my general lack of knowledge and inexperience when it comes to this sort of stuff.

I’m helping my mom manage a town-home that we rent out. The tenant recently left and of course there are several things to-do. One thing that caught my eye is they ran a cable through the exterior wall into the house for satellite TV.

I’m going to take out the cable, but my question is, how do i patch that up?
      1. Patch the outside wall?
      2. Fill the hole with…?
      3. Patch the inside wall?

I’m sure this is easier than I’m making it out to be, but more specifics the better! I have LITTLE DIY knowledge.

      Thank you!

Repairing the hole in the exterior wall depends on what type of construction you have. If brick or other masonry material, fill the hole with mortar. If other, advise what you have and we will give suggestions. The interior wall is most likely drywall, so the proper patching material would be drywall compound.
