My home insurance policy is up for renewal next month and I’ll be shopping around for better rates. I’ve never really looked into the policy details, and always went with whatever the insurance agent recommended, but I’m hoping to be more informed this year 🙂
My question is, what specific policy items should I be asking about to the property insurance company for renewal? I live in a detached 2 storey house in the GTA. Here are the protections I can think of off the top of my head: fire, flooding (ex excessive rain or if a pipe bursts), sewer backup, natural disasters, hail, falling airplanes/drones, if somebody slips and falls, robbery of personal items, damage during break-ins, injured workers (during renovations). Is there anything else that needs to be addressed.
