My Maytag 2001 double door refer will not close tight unless I shove it, it stays open by 1/4″. I’ve raised the front up and sprayed the hinge with silicone spray but no luck, I changed the door liner due to a split and the door liner clears the door frame by at least a 1/8″. I’ve adjusted the hinge out to make sure the liner clears the frame but still the closing problem. HELP

when you say door liner do you mean the magnetic door seal?

The liner I’m talking about is the inside plastic part of the door that holds milk and butter and othe objects not the seal.

Did you reinstall the door gasket properly? Often it is only magnetic on 3-sides. The un-magnetic side does between the hinges.

After loosening the liner screws, the door can fail to hang plumb causing closing issues. You can read about adjusting the door for that at the following link.

But someone *on the scene* is going to have to determine WHY the door isn’t closing. Once you tell us that we may be able to suggest solutions.
